Basic very low hydrogen electrode for creep resistant grades welding

DETAILS

Basic coated matching core wire 9%Cr 1/2%Mo 1.5% W VNbN electrode suitable for welding creep resistant steels like X10CrMoWVNb9-2, SA387 Gr92 Cl1 and Cl2, SA 182 Gr F92, SA 335 Gr P92, SA 213 Gr T92 and similar. The weld metal chemistry is very low in tramp/impurity elements. The fine tuning of the weld metal chemistry allows excellent rupture strength at high temperature, approved up to +650°C.

Features

  • P92 alloyed steel: 9Cr steel designed to weld equivalent 'type 92' steels modified with tungsten, vanadium, niobium, nitrogen, and a small addition of boron to give improved long term creep properties
  • Excellent tensile strength in creep regime
  • Moisture resistant coating provides low amounts of weld metal hydrogen levels for a superior weld
  • Specifically designed for high integrity structural service at elevated temperature

Typical Applications

  • Headers
  • Main steam piping
  • Turbine castings
  • Power generating plants

Welding Positions

  • All, except vertical down
