ROHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment)
The RoHS environmental directive (2002/95/EC, 2011/65/EU and EU 2015/863) is a European regulation that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). The restrictions aim to preserve the environment, improve recycling, and minimize hazard exposure. The 10 RoHS substances are: Cadmium (Cd), Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Hexavalent Chromium (Cr VI), Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB), Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE), Bis(2-Ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), Benzyl butyl phthalate (BBP), Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) and Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP). All relevant Lincoln Electric Company products manufactured in or imported into the EU comply with the RoHS directive (naturally, or by use of applicable exemptions).
